Grey River and the Smoky Mountain is a folk band based in Athens, Greece. Their sound is described as Americana, combining various American, Irish and European folk elements and genres, including bluegrass, folk, country and blues, and connecting musical sounds and worlds, enhancing Greece’s influence on the world music scene and vice versa.

It consists of Rena Papageorgiou (voice, mandolin), Sarantos Goumakos (guitar, voice), Tasos Gouseti (violin), Meleti Pogas (banjo) and Yannis Voutsinas (double bass).

They have performed in various music scenes and festivals in Greece, such as Caravan Sessions Vol.1 in which they were co-organizers, Prairie & Rust Fest Vol. 3, 7th Music Highway Festival, 3rd LET IT BEET FESTIVAL and MELIZAZ FESTIVAL. In 2019 they performed live on the show “Radio Arvyla” and in 2024 they performed in New York with GRis Festival.
